Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes

Here is another gallery for you. If you haven’t already looked at Monochrome, my first gallery – then I should explain that you need to tap or click on one of the images and they will come up in a larger format and you can scroll through them.

Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes is a national nature reserve on the Lincolnshire coast between the resort towns of Mablethorpe to the south and Cleethorpes to the north. On Saturday we drove through the Wolds to look at wood for shelves at Lincolnshire Reclamation; then on to the nature reserve which is an expanse of dunes and marsh, sea buckthorn, birds and very few people.

All effortlessly beautiful on a sunny day, as you can see from the photos (taken on my iPad). I’d like to see it in different weather – reminded me of stories from childhood of journeys through misty marshes (lovely Rosemary Sutcliffe novels, Outcast and Brother Dusty-Feet).

A very good place to get away from it all (including loos and food – be prepared).
